About your Tour Guide
Hi my name is Ryan Thibeault.
I am the owner and operator of Tour Mystic, a business that I am extremely excited to bring to the community of Mystic, CT. Mystic has been home to me for about 5 years. When I was a child, my Gramma would load up her old Lincoln Town Car, we called "the boat," with all 6 of her grandkids and take us on unforgettable mystery rides! At the time most of my family was living in New Hampshire. Being able to escape our small town up north to explore was always such a treat! It was on these trips that my grandmother, 3 cousins and 2 sisters would create unforgettable memories that we all cherish to this day. I fell in love with the beautiful charm of this coastal New England town and always told myself that I would live here someday. After living in New Hampshire for some time my journey led me to Austin, TX. It was In Texas that I would graduate from High School and begin my professional career in the service industry. Little did I know what that would entail for my future ahead. The Restaurant industry taught me many things including, professionalism, compassion, community, patience, and hospitality. It helped shape me into the person I am today. At the age of 21 my sister and I made the decision to move to the beautiful state of Hawaii. It was an unforgettable experience. We hiked to the most beautiful waterfalls, watched the most beautiful sunsets and made genuine connections with people from different backgrounds. After an incredible year of living in paradise I decided to move back to Texas. My mid 20's were spent making memories with friends and family and is often the times I miss the most. Late nights of laughter and days spent by our backyard pool were the best. At the age of 24 I decided to fulfil my lifelong dream of living on the coast of New England. My grandparents had already set up shop living in what my Gramma and Grampa would call there "Beach house," just a few miles from Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island. Little did I know that moving to Mystic, CT would be my best decision in life. I was able to reconnect with family and spend valuable time with everyone I love. I began working at S&P Oyster Restaurant and Bar, a waterfront restaurant in the heart of Mystic in 2022. These next few years would truly showcase my abilities as a professional server. Working in this town I've seen so many tourists come from all around the world looking for unforgettable experiences. It was in these moments that I came up with the concept of my business Tour Mystic. Creating memories each day for people visiting our town, while sharing the legacy and stories of others, is something that seemed to be a perfect fit for me. I hope to inspire as many people as I can to live a life rich in memories and to cherish those we love the most.
